Beverley Dinner puts spotlight on Men's Health
Monday, 4 April 2016
Approximately 70 former PSA students enjoyed a night of comradery in Beverley while being entertained by Ross Ditchburn, Carlton’s top goal-kicker and Premiership player in 1982. Ditchburn, an Old Aquinian, used the opportunity to place a spotlight on men’s health and share the story of his own battle to overcome Prostate Cancer.

Ross spoke openly about his own experience and of male health issues more broadly, and also about the good work done by The Regional Men’s Health Initiative. The initiative’s vision is to empower men and communities to take responsibility for their wellbeing and health, and the motto is:
Before it all gets too much, talk to a mate!

Ross was speaking at the 82nd Annual Dinner of the Beverley & Districts Combined Public Schools Old Boys’ Association, on Friday 1 April 2016, which is an event that brings together former PSA students from Beverley, surrounding areas and from Perth.

Pictured holding the Guildford Grammar School flag are the following Old Guildfordians that attended the event (L-R): John Deykin (He 1946-1946), John Barrett-Lennard (SG/Fr 1961-1966), Russell Miller (Sc 1973-1974), Denys Warren (St 1971-1975), David Macdonald (Ha 1987-1992), John Harris (Ha 1965-1969), Gerren Goodwin (Fr 1985-1989), Garry Miller (He 1980-1981), Bill Cleland (He 1977-1983) and David Williams (SG 1990-1993).
